Intro
LingoWare is based on LingoCom's own patented and patent pending core technology for translating Internet and software applications into different languages.
LingoWare application is client-server application. LingoWare's translations are made possible through hook and interception technology, which makes it possible to change screen text into the user's end language.
LingoWare has also incorporated Machine Translation (MT) technologies into its application, in addition to global dictionaries and additional software-driven grammar rules, in order to provide end-users with all the features that LingoWare offers.
The application translation can be either from an application-specific human translation, as is the case with ICQ and GoZilla, or by means of a global dictionary and MT. Although the application-specific translation is more accurate than MT, the MT solution opens the door to applications and programs that were previously inaccessible to the non-English speaker.
Software Translation
LingoWare contains a software translation tool, called the LingoWare Editor, which is used to translate applications into different languages. The tool is easy to use and requires absolutely no programming skills. With this editing tool, developers and distributors can easily localize their products for customers who don't speak English.
The The LingoWare Editor scans the text files of a program, and then imports them for viewing, translation, or modification. The Editor utilizes a technology whereby the words, phrases and sentences of the program are separated out from the code, and the translation is executed independently of the actual program. By using the LingoWare translation method, there is no need to make any changes to the actual program code, as the entire translation is performed outside the program. LingoWare even corrects the size of the controls if they are too small to contain the translated text, and changes the font type when it is not supported by the target language.
LingoWare Editor has "learning" capabilities, whereby words, phrases and sentences that have been inputted by the translator help to expand the knowledge base of the Editor. The translation process begins with the sentences in the "unknown" state. The translator clicks on a sentence and receives its machine translation (MT). The user can improve on or change the translation, and replace the initial MT. The sentence is then added to the application's translation file. If the sentence is part of a dialog box, the user can click on a button to view the sentence in its context, inside the dialog box. The translator can then see these dialog boxes in their context within the program.
The English and translated versions are both readily available. Changes to the text are stored in the translation file and the resizing is stored in the exceptions files. This is a unique, ingenious method, which enables anybody to correct the translation on the fly.
LingoWare Editor is currently available for the following languages: Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese Brazilian, Spanish, Swedish, and Dutch. More languages will be added, and there is no technical limit as to how many languages can be offered.
